buildstherobots: (and isn't she pretty in pink)

Where can I get makeup in this place? The supply in the house is running low.

Most people here do.

... so ask the drones, is what you're saying?

Apparently they wouldn't respond well to my buying it for myself; it seems I'll have to claim it's for someone else or get a girl to go buy it for me. Ridiculous.

What? Because you're male? That's stupid. I'm just as attractive as any female... if not more so. I should have this make up.

I know! It's completely unfair and we shouldn't have to put up with it.

If you've got a 'wife' then you should be able to find some in the bathroom if you look.

No! We shouldn't. I want to stay attractive for my mate, thank you. And I would prefer not to have to sneak around to do it.

... Right, I'll go look there.

It can take some practice to learn to properly apply; if you need assistance, I'm more than able to provide.

... Why not? So long as you promise not to be intimidated by my bodywork.

From: [identity profile] buildstherobots.livejournal.com
I am very difficult to intimidate; you don't need to worry about that.

What sort of body work?

... well, it's human now. But it's still stunning.

Does that mean it used to be mechanical?

[Intrigued!]

About twenty feet taller, silver, and the finest mechanical construction the Autobots had to offer.

I see. A shame that I can't see it in its original form.

From: [identity profile] weaponsparked.livejournal.com
Oh, it really is. It's a shame no one here can see it... but that's the town's fault entirely...

And I was so much prettier too.

Machines do have an enduring beauty that organic matter has a hard time keeping up with. When something wears out you replace the part and polish it back up to its old shine, effectively creating immortality, while when the same thing happens to a human... well, it's more difficult to repair, we'll say.

From: [identity profile] weaponsparked.livejournal.com
Maybe that's true for pure machines. But, even Autobots get old. Worn out... No replacements for the spark.

Fortunately, I'm in my prime.

From: [identity profile] buildstherobots.livejournal.com
What part of you contains the spark? Is it centralized like a human brain, or is it integral to all of your parts?

Date: 2010-03-30 11:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] weaponsparked.livejournal.com
Um... both?

It's in our chests, but... we need it. It's who we are.

Date: 2010-03-30 11:44 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] buildstherobots.livejournal.com
Oh, naturally; that isn't what I meant. What I meant was that, say... getting a new arm wouldn't actually change anything except bodily function. That's how humans are; the only problem is that you can't just build new parts for them.

Oh. Well. We can snap the limbs back in sometimes, if they're torn off. But after a certain point, things just... get old. Worn down.

Date: 2010-03-30 11:52 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] buildstherobots.livejournal.com
Sad but true. But it takes longer for you, doesn't it?

Date: 2010-03-30 11:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] weaponsparked.livejournal.com
Much longer. The old timer's got to be at least a hundred million years old. Or something.

And he's still going strong. When his joints don't lock up.

[...Holy shit.]

...That's amazing.

He certainly thinks so. On a good day, he's damned proud of his age.

Cranky, creaking, and liable to blow your head off with his cannons.
