[Dist is out in his driveway, meticulously working with the Kaiser's gun. He'd been a bit nervous about powering him up, but unlike last time he didn't start sparking and exploding, so Dist decided to count his blessings. Later on he would do a more thorough inspection, but for the moment his main project was modifying the gun to fire something other than its specialized fonic shells. Nails had seemed like a cheap and effective alternative, and as such he'd built up a stack of them sizable enough to build himself a second house. Now, the only thing to do would be to load it up and see if it could fire them in the first place to determine just how much modification would be necessary... so, naturally, he loaded the gun up and aimed it at the lawn.
Another thirty or so seconds later, the lawn, the side of the house, and half of the car are riddled with hot nails. The gun had fired, but it had spun wildly out of control; the only reason Dist hadn't been run through was because he'd been holding it from behind. Completely unperturbed, he sits himself down in the Kaiser's cockpit and begins to take the gun apart.]

Date: 2010-05-18 08:55 pm (UTC)It's quite simple. Here...
[He sets the gun down and stands, pressing a few buttons.]
He only responds to me, so there's no need to lock him up. You'd have to pick him up and carry him somewhere, then modify most of his internal circuitry to make him respond to you or anyone else.
[And with a pull of a lever, the Kaiser hums, then shifts its weight and stands easily. With no chair there isn't much of a demonstration Dist can do without falling over, but he can at least start it up.]

Date: 2010-05-19 12:05 am (UTC)I can't make anything like this. I mean I can make some cool stuff but not machinery like this. What kind of magic did you study?

I can't make machinery. Only creatures.

I should make you something. But I need some spell components. Give me some time, and I'll make you something! Maybe your own dodo! I'm sure you'll like them!

Date: 2010-05-19 02:45 am (UTC)I don't think I need a pet. But if you can do your magic here, maybe I can show you how to apply it to a machine.

Maybe you'll get it back someday.

Date: 2010-05-19 03:22 pm (UTC)Mayfield is... weird. It takes away magic abilities. But sometimes people get them back, the same way I got the Kaiser back. So if you wait, maybe you'll be able to cast your spells again.

I CAN PICTURE IT
Date: 2010-05-19 06:16 pm (UTC)[Damn, he'd been able to pretend that it wasn't true. Addressing it like this was just becoming depressing.]
